Entry ages & placement

For 2026/27 first-time school entrants, UAE MoE requires age 3 for Pre-KG/FS1, 4 for KG1/FS2, 5 for KG2/Year 1 and 6 for Grade 1/Year 2 by 31 December 2026. Existing pupils are unaffected; transfers are placed using their last completed grade and approved equivalencies. SES’s published DOB calculator still uses a September-birthday adjustment equivalent to the former August cutoff; confirm placement with admissions.
