Entry ages & placement
2026/27 standard cohorts use birth dates 1 September–31 August, with Nursery age 3–4, Reception 4–5 and Year 13 17–18. Pre-Nursery is age 2–3, birth dates 1 March 2023–31 August 2024. The chart permits entry from 18 months when mid-year places are available; this conditional exception does not replace the usual age-2 minimum. New entrants cannot join Years 11 or 13 because these are halfway through two-year courses.
